Securus also notifies schools of signs of depression or suicide, predator grooming and the use of drugs amongst a school population, whether staff or students.
Mango Marketing was assigned as Securus’ PR agency to raise market awareness and ascertain strong brand identity. Further objectives for Mango were to position Securus as the industry ‘experts’ and promote the wider e-safety message. All was to be achieved on a limited budget, but as Mango has proven, this can certainly be accomplished.
E-safety is a highly sensitive subjective and one of heightened concern in the education sector and local authorities across the UK, therefore Mango was to implement effective PR support with caution and consideration. The PR campaign was performed through a range of activities including; thought leadership features and advice articles, best practice articles bylined to Securus’ client, interviews with Securus spokespeople/ Securus’ clients and key journalists, and press releases for contract wins.
Media interviews have been a key component of the PR campaign. Recently, a representative from Surrey County Council took part in a radio interview with the BBC, together with a spokesperson from Securus, to highlight how traveller children are protected when using technology. A further BBC radio interview was secured, generating a total of over nine minutes airtime and a high product placement focusing on the benefits of Securus.
