Parago Software

Parago Software

Parago is an automated asset management solution that tracks and records all assets on a school site, including ICT and non ICT resources. It also records software licences so that schools can reduce the risk of licence duplication or overdue expiry dates. More recently the company has successfully broken into the commercial sector.

Mango Marketing was appointed as Parago Software’s (formerly known as IT Vision) PR and marketing agency. At the time approximately 90 per cent of schools were not up to date with their asset management and the prospect of implementing a strategy was daunting and often overlooked.

Parago, launched in January 2006, was the first web-hosted IT asset discovery and software licensing solution to be targeted at the education market. While schools recognise the benefit of Parago and the potential licensing and safety dangers of not using Parago, the lack of ring fenced funding and mandatory statement from the Government, resulted in the majority of schools deferring their investment.

It was Mango’s role to build relationships with key government stakeholders, raise the profile of asset management in the education market, and create interest around the issue of asset management for schools and local authorities. Mango was also to position Parago Software as the expert in this marketplace and raise awareness of Parago as a solution to the issue.
